So how does it work?

Once the Activote for PowerPoint ® software has been installed onto a computer, an additional toolbar is available within Microsoft PowerPoint ®. Icons on the toolbar enable handsets to be set up and questions to be created using the ‘Slide Wizard’. From the toolbar, user groups can be created (for when you need to know who responded with what) and results exported to Excel ®. Presentations can be a mix of voting and non-voting slides and there are various options, such as the ability to display graphs on the page instantly or to have a countdown timer on display.

When the presentation is started and a voting slide is shown, the presenter simply invites the audience to respond by clicking the icon on screen. The audience then presses a button on their handset which corresponds with their chosen answer. The presenter stops the response session when desired and moves on. At the end of the presentation, results can be displayed automatically and instantaneously in Excel ® or they can be saved for use later.
